“True Grit,” our theme this year depicts the kind of people we are in Texas County and the surrounding communities. True Grit has traditionally been a phrase you hear a lot around Hitch. But with record drought, and all it brings: the extra watering, the labor, and almost a sense of “forgotten-ness,” we are a people who have been here before, and survived- even flourished.

We welcome back the Oklahoma City Zoo and their traveling collection, with Amy Stevens. They’ll set up Friday evening just outside the fair building’s entrance.

Historically, fairs are a representation of the handiworks of a people. Texas County has a well-rounded people with a well-rounded collection of handiworks. And there is literally, something for everyone to enter. As for the 94th Annual Panhandle Exposition Texas County Fair, “the show will go on!”
